Taking Care of Mommy

My mommy takes good care of me. She cooks healthy meals with lean protein and a large assortment of fruits and vegetables. Mommy encourages me to drink plenty of water every day. She makes sure that I get enough sleep every night.

Mommy is also my fitness coach. She takes the time to help me get enough exercise every day. Mommy makes it fun by turning my exercise time into playtime. There are many games a baby can play which are very active.

Eating right, staying hydrated, exercise, and setting aside enough time for sleep are all important parts of a healthy lifestyle. It’s not always easy but all the hard work is worth the effort. I’m a very healthy baby and I feel great.

Since mommy takes such good care of me, it got me thinking about mommy’s health too. I have heard mommy say that because of me mommy and daddy both eat healthier food. It’s nice to know that I’m contributing to mommy and daddy’s wellbeing. I like to be helpful.

I’m sure mommy sleeps while I’m sleeping because what else would she do when I’m not around? Mommy can always be found with a cup of water nearby so I know she stays hydrated. What about exercise? I don’t think mommy does much of that. I better help mommy out!

I’m not an expert in the area of mommy exercises, so I decided to turn to people who are. I was recently contacted by a company called Flex who wanted to know if I would be interested in doing a review of their website. After a quick look around I knew this would be perfect for my mommy and I eagerly agreed to the review.

The truth is that mommy doesn’t do much exercising because she doesn’t have much time. Mommy spends most of her time taking care of me. What time is left over she spends on taking care of daddy, our cats, and our home. Not only does mommy have little free time, the time she does have is erratic and unpredictable.

The great thing about Flex is that it’s available anytime at the click of a button. Flex connects people with fitness professionals in the comfort of home. All you need is a computer and you can take a class anywhere at any time. It’s really quite ingenious.

They call this pose downward dog

I decided to introduce mommy to Flex to see how she likes it. Mommy signed up for the 30 day free trial right away so that she could try it out. It’s completely risk free. There wasn’t even a credit card required.

After signing up mommy was taken to a screen where she could select the kinds of exercises she is interested in. Mommy selected Dance, Pilates, and Yoga but there were several others to choose from. Here is a list of all the options that were available:

  • Barre
  • Cardio
  • Dance
  • HIT
  • Pilates
  • Pre/Post Natal
  • Strength/Toning
  • Yoga
  • Other

After making her selection, mommy was taken to a scheduling screen. There were seven columns displayed. One for each day of the week. The rows represented the hours. Mommy simply highlighted all the days and times that she could possibly want to join a class.

Once mommy selected her preferred types of exercise, and filled in her schedule, a new screen popped up displaying all of the classes coming up which matched mommy’s criteria. You can go to your settings and choose to have a schedule reminder sent by email.

The best thing about Flex is that you don’t have to follow even your own schedule. Whenever you want to join a class and have a workout, simply log on and press the “Live & Upcoming” button. This takes you to a screen of all classes currently in progress as well as those that are starting soon. Just click on what interests you and join in.

This morning mommy and I did three classes. We started with some Pilates, followed by light yoga, and finished it off with some core strengthening exercises. I’m happy to see mommy getting into it. She already has some of her favourite instructors. Mommy has subscribed to their channels so that she can watch for more of their classes.

Flex has a social aspect too. Each class has a chat feature at the bottom where members can talk or leave comments for the instructor. There is also the option to invite friends from Facebook or Twitter. You can take a class together without even being in the same building.

Flex is great for busy people who want to be more active. There are classes starting all the time so no matter when you want to exercise, you are bound to find something suitable when it’s convenient for you. There are longer classes and shorter ones. Beginner oriented and advanced level. Why not sign up for the free trial and test it out yourself? It might be your first step to a healthier you.

  • What a great sounding way to personalize your fitness and remind you when classes are on #Best&Worst

    • I love the fact that you can just log in and take a class when it’s convenient. Babies don’t work around anyone’s schedule. I like that flexibility to do a class when I can. Thanks for visiting.

  • So, does the app show you where local classes are taking place (in a physical location) or is it over the internet? If its a physical thing this sounds awesome! Glad you enjoyed it #BloggerClubUK

Oh this sounds great – I keep saying I need to get back into exercising, but it’s been 20 months since Alfie was born and I’m still finding excuses not to. This sounds like something easy I can do on my terms #bestandworst

Hahaha! So nice to have your child taking such good care of you! 😉 Your post reminded me that I could use some exercises too, but then I remember that days aren’t long enough to do everything and I still need to clean the house!!! Arghhh…

You are absolutely right! Believe me I do have total respect for mums who manage to do it all and get some time to themselves. I also agree that you have to make priorities and not let the everyday life overwhelm you and bury you (ehm ehm, like me). x

        • I hope I didn’t come across as managing to get it all done. That’s not me. At least half my house is a disaster at any given time. It’s an uphill battle. That’s kind of what I put on the bottom of the priority pile. The only room that gets due attention is the kitchen. I eliminate germs but leave dust and clutter alone if I run out of time.
